HOA & Mutual Trash Rules

Important building and mutual rules that affect how you handle trash in Laguna Woods Village.

Trash Chutes

In some buildings, chutes accept bagged trash only — no boxes, no large items. Break down boxes and dispose of them properly, and never force oversized items down a chute.

No Early or Loose Trash

Don't leave trash outside except on collection days, and always use the official CR&R carts following the 'What Goes Where' guidelines.

Construction & Renovation Waste

Remodeling debris is not part of standard residential collection and usually requires a private dumpster or hauler. See our construction debris removal service.

Mutual-Specific Rules

Third Mutual, United Mutual and the Towers may each have additional internal rules on placement, access and bulky items. When in doubt, check with Resident Services — or let us handle it; we know the rules mutual by mutual.

Note: Rules can change — always confirm current details with CR&R or Laguna Woods Village Resident Services. Sources: Laguna Woods Village Resident Services, lagunawoods.gov, and the CR&R Laguna Woods page.
